Gentle Yoga for Women
A slower, softer approach to yoga centered around coming home to your body.
These women-only classes combine gentle movement, breath, grounding, meditation, and rest. Practices move slowly and intentionally, giving you time to feel each shape without rushing from one pose to the next.
My teaching is informed by trauma-sensitive principles and emphasizes choice, autonomy, and listening to your own body. You are always welcome to modify a pose, rest, keep your eyes open, change positions, or opt out of anything that doesn't feel supportive to you. There is no pressure to perform, push deeper, or make your body look a certain way.
Each week is centered around a theme connected to the energy of the current astrology and season that we explore through movement, breath, reflection, and meditation — things like grounding, receiving, self-love, rest, boundaries, balance, and staying connected to yourself.
Classes are accessible to beginners while still offering experienced students an opportunity to slow down and experience yoga in a different way.
Come exactly as you are.
What does trauma-sensitive mean here?
For me, trauma-sensitive yoga means creating space for you to remain in relationship with your own body and your own choices.
Rather than telling you what you should feel or pushing your body toward a particular shape, I offer invitations, options, and time to notice what feels supportive to you.
That may look like keeping your eyes open rather than closing them, choosing a different position, taking a break, staying in a pose longer, or deciding not to do something at all. Hands-on adjustments are not part of my classes unless specifically discussed and consented to.
I am not a therapist, and these classes are not intended to diagnose or treat trauma or any mental health condition. My approach is shaped by my own experience with trauma-sensitive yoga, continued learning and reading in this area, and a commitment to teaching in a way that prioritizes choice, bodily autonomy, gentleness, and emotional and physical safety.
